Positive source signals
A named maintainer, clear edition and loader, version-specific files, setup documentation, visible history, real comments and an explicit relationship to the original creator.
Platform guide · checked August 24, 2026
There is no single file that works on every Minecraft edition. Identify your platform first, then verify the exact project, author, loader, version and file type before installing anything.
The source below is a place to continue checking, not a blanket guarantee for every file with a similar name.
| Platform | Expected format | Strongest current starting point | Check before installing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Java Edition | JAR plus the listed mod loader and dependencies | Verity JE on CurseForge | CurseForge marks 5.7.4 as the main Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge file and lists 6.0.0-beta.7 as a newer beta entry; compare the file labels before choosing |
| Bedrock · Verity BE | Add-on package such as .mcaddon | Verity BE 4.0.0 | The current file targets 26.40 while the setup text still requires 26.30; confirm behavior/resource packs and the exact file instructions |
| Bedrock · PnTMC | Add-on package such as .mcaddon | Verity - Bedrock Edition 4.0.0 | A separate PnTMC project for 26.40; check its own file history, Beta APIs requirement and installation notes |
| Pocket Edition / Android | Store app or Bedrock add-on installer | Example Google Play listing | Unofficial disclaimer, developer contact, ads, data safety, permissions, reviews and update history |
We do not mirror or repackage JAR, APK, ZIP or .mcaddon files. Project status can change; re-check the destination page before every install.
A named maintainer, clear edition and loader, version-specific files, setup documentation, visible history, real comments and an explicit relationship to the original creator.
A shortened URL, copied download button, password-protected archive, unrelated installer, disabled comments, no author identity or a page that promises one file for Java, Bedrock and mobile.
A fan-made project can be legitimate and well maintained. It should still state who made it, what it supports and whether it has permission to use the Verity property.
Before installation
Do this on the exact file page you plan to use. A trustworthy homepage does not validate a reupload elsewhere.
Java AI setup
As of August 8, the project website linked from CurseForge describes a fully local Ollama route with no API keys, accounts or cloud service.
The CurseForge description and Modrinth page still mention Groq and setup tutorials. These project-controlled pages are not synchronized, so follow the instructions attached to the exact file and version you install.
Do not copy API keys into unknown launchers or third-party setup pages. Follow the instructions linked by the exact project team and keep secrets out of screenshots, crash logs and public comments.
Mobile caution
Store review and developer identity are not the same as creator authorization. Read the app's own disclaimer and data-safety section, then decide whether it is an installer, a collection of add-ons or a project connected to the original series.
Avoid APK mirrors when the same app has an official store listing. Mirrors can preserve an old version, alter packaging or make it harder to identify the real developer.
Start with the exact Verity JE project on CurseForge. Our Verity JE guide records the current version, loader, setup caveats and source links before you leave this site.
No. A Java JAR is not a Bedrock add-on. Use the Verity Mod Bedrock comparison to check the separate mcaddon projects and their installation instructions.
No blanket claim can be made from the name alone. Prefer the developer's real store page, inspect its disclosures and permissions, and avoid copied APK mirrors.
The linked project website currently says its local Ollama setup needs no API key. CurseForge and Modrinth still mention Groq and setup tutorials. Because those pages are not synchronized, follow the instructions for your exact file and review the Verity JE safety checks.
Start with the Verity JE troubleshooting checks. Confirm Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge for the file you selected, remove mismatched files, and follow the AI setup instructions for the exact version you installed.
