Setup path

Install the exact file, then follow its AI instructions

The project-controlled pages are changing quickly. Treat the release page, not an old video or mirror, as the final setup reference.

  1. Create a matching profile. Use Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge for the current 6.1 main file.
  2. Download from the named project. Confirm the project ID, author and filename before leaving CurseForge or Modrinth.
  3. Check dependencies. Read the file notes and project instructions for any required libraries or services.
  4. Place the JAR unextracted. Put it in the profile's mods folder. Do not rename or unpack it.
  5. Configure the AI route. Follow the instructions attached to your release because the project website and platform descriptions currently differ.
  6. Test in a new world. Back up existing worlds and confirm chat, voice and performance before using an important save.

What it adds

AI assistant and Verity horror gameplay

The project describes a personal AI assistant, an animated box interface, the Verity Demon and darker gameplay systems inspired by ThatMob's series.

The CurseForge description says the assistant is powered by Groq. The linked project website now describes a fully local Ollama route instead. That mismatch is why this guide does not present one old setup tutorial as universal.

Authorization claim

Creator-approved is not Mojang-official

The Verity JE page calls the project an official adaptation made with explicit ThatMob permission, and ThatMob's CurseForge profile currently lists it.

This supports a creator relationship. It does not make the mod a Mojang or Microsoft release, and it does not authorize third-party mirrors using the same name or art.

Language support

Project sources do not give the same answer yet

The linked project website lists English, Spanish, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Japanese for chat and voice.

CurseForge and Modrinth say the AI supports all languages, but speech-to-text and text-to-speech were tested only in English. These claims may describe different releases or setups, so verify the exact version before relying on voice support.

Verity JE questions

What is the latest Verity JE version?

The current main file checked on August 7, 2026 is verity-6.1.jar for Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge.

Does Verity JE work with Fabric?

Fabric is not listed for the current main file. Do not install the Forge JAR in a Fabric profile unless the project publishes a compatible file.

Can I use Verity JE on Minecraft 1.21.1?

A NeoForge 3.4.1 branch exists for 1.21.1, but the project marks it deprecated and warns that it contains bugs. Read the current file notes before choosing it.

Does Verity JE require an API key?

The linked project website says its current local Ollama setup needs no API keys, accounts or cloud service. CurseForge and Modrinth still mention Groq and setup tutorials. Follow the instructions for your exact release because those pages are not synchronized.

Which languages does Verity JE support?

The project website lists seven chat and voice languages. CurseForge and Modrinth say AI can support all languages but speech-to-text and text-to-speech were tested only in English. Check the release instructions for the language and voice path you plan to use.

Is the Verity JE download safe?

No guide can certify every future binary. Use the exact CurseForge or Modrinth project, match the file to your loader and game version, avoid mirrors, and test it in a separate backed-up profile.

Not sure whether you need Java or Bedrock?

Use the platform guide before downloading. A Java JAR will not work as a Bedrock add-on.
